In 2018, Dufour finally presented the successor of the legendary 500 series - the Grand Large 520 - at the Düsseldorf exhibition.
Exterior and interior design
Umberto Felchi, a long time partner of the shipyard, was invited to create the model, together with whom the designers of the company have developed a comfortable cruiser with a Mediterranean cockpit. The Grand Large 520 is designed in a modern style, where beauty and functionality are harmoniously combined. The superstructure has been reduced in shape to provide better seaworthiness, while the interior spaces are illuminated with huge roof windows.
Amenities on board.
The yacht is well designed for outdoor recreation. Aft there is a spacious cockpit with a galley as well as a folding bathing platform. There is a spacious sunbathing sundeck on the foredeck.
The kitchen on the lower deck is offset to the bow, creating a spacious salon with a large dining area. With a choice of three to five cabins, the 520 will appeal to a wide range of customers.
Features
Given the size and configuration (sailing weapons in the base comes with the genoa) the boat is more suitable for more experienced sailors. It will be difficult for a newcomer to cope with it alone. It is optionally possible to install an automatic staysail as well as to increase the number of winches from four to six.
