Fire destroys eight yachts at Abu Dhabi Yacht Club

A major fire broke out at the Abu Dhabi Yacht Club on 7 March. Before local firefighters took control of the situation, the fire had managed to destroy eight boats docked at the Marina Yacht Club.

According to local media reports, among the affected vessels was the 30.75-metre superyacht Asfar, built by Turkish shipyard Dragos Yachts in 2006. The yacht had a wooden hull and a GRP superstructure.

At the time of the fire, there were 211 boats moored at the yacht club. No one was injured as a result of the incident. The cause of the fire is still unknown, but it is known that the fire broke out on board two yachts and then spread to others.
