Sergey Komissarov is in eighth place overall after three days of competition in which six out of ten races of the class qualifying stage took place.

The Russian yachtsman made a good start to the Olympics, finishing second in the first race and ninth on the second day. Second day was less successful for Sergey Komissarov: he finished third and fourth races on 19th and 24th places respectively. On Wednesday, the Olympian was more confident, coming seventh and tenth.

Exercising the right to throw away his worst result he took eighth place in the overall ranking with 47 points. In first place so far is Croatia's Tonči Stipanović with 26 points, second is Nick Thompson of Great Britain with 35 points and third is Rutger van Scharrenburg of the Netherlands with 37 points.

The next two races of qualifying stage in «Laser class» will be held on Friday. The start of the first is at 19:15 Moscow time.

In addition to Komissarov, Russian windsurfer Stefania Elfutina has distinguished herself at the Olympics. After six races in class RS:X she comes in third place in the overall standings of the regatta. Italian Flavia Tartalini is leading. There are six more races of qualifying stage ahead, they will be today and tomorrow.

In Class 470, the situation is not so rosy: Pavel Sozykin and Denis Gribanov completed the first two races in 12th and 17th places, becoming 12th in overall classification; Alisa Kirilyuk and Ludmila Dmitrieva had false start in the first race, and in the second - disqualified by rule 10 (right - left tack) for a protest of the German racers. As a result, she finished 20th in the overall standings.
