The Chris-Craft Commander 42 is a modern interpretation of the classic lobster boat series produced under the Chris-Craft brand in the 1960s.

The boat was built in Italy at the Austin Parker shipyard and borrowed a lot from the Austin Parker 42.

Italian in particular is shown in the undulating lines of its hull sides and its refined interior, which makes generous use of wood, combining walnut with various types of bleached wood and teak.

Relaxing in small groups on the Commander 42 can be found in the cockpit, either under the open skies aft or sheltered from the elements under the hardtop, or in the bow, where there is a large sun pads.

In the engine room of the Commander 42 are two 435 hp Volvo IPS engines, which provide excellent maneuverability with significant space savings.

The extra space has been used to create two full cabins. A total of five guests can be accommodated on the lower deck. She has a galley and separate shower with a glass door and mosaic tiles.

The Chris-Craft Commander 42 is the first boat in the Commander line and will be joined by 36-foot and 52-foot models. The launch marks Chris-Craft's return to the cabin cruiser market.
