The 34-metre yacht Saint caught fire off the Greek island of Mykonos last night. The cause of the fire is unknown, but it is believed to have originated in the engine room.

Saint is a GRP yacht, built at Technomar Shipyard in 2006. She is equipped with two MTU engines of 2285 hp each and can reach 22 knots. There are four guest cabins accommodating eight passengers and crew quarters for a crew of six. The naval architecture of the yacht was designed by Roberto Zappelli.

Saint was based in Athens and sailed on charters to Greek islands. Her weekly charter rate varied from €50k.

This is the third fire involving yachts this week. On Monday, a major fire in Barcelona that destroyed six yachts and a fire in Marmaris that caused fatalities were reported.
