James Bond will have a lot to choose from when it comes to his sea chase: first there is a boat with the emblem of his favorite car brand Aston Martin on board, and now the legendary car concern is planning to launch a submarine.

The design of the British manufacturer of supercars Aston Martin and experience of Triton Submarines, specializing on production of deep-water vehicles, have merged into a single project of a three-seat submarine called Neptune.

The concept was unveiled at the Monaco Yacht Show 2017 and is set to be the lightest and most compact premium submarine for a pilot and two passengers.

Executive Vice President and Chief Creative Officer of Aston Martin - Marek Reichman said the following about the novelty: «The Neptune project features sleek lines and an elegant appearance. We used the same shapes and proportions that reflect the dedication to design and beauty in the style of our cars such as the Aston Martin Valkyriehypercar concept».

The Neptune, based on the acclaimed Triton 1650/3 LP platform, will be released in limited editions next year, and the water toy will cost around $4 million.

The mini-submarine will be able to dive to a depth of 500 meters and spend up to 12 hours underwater, and thanks to an electric propulsion system and four 30 kWh batteries it will be able to travel at up to 3 knots. She is 3.2m long, 2.6m wide and 1.8m high. In addition, 4-ton bathyscaphe will be equipped with climate control and CO2 absorber.

As Aston Martin explains, the majority of owners of supercars are also keen on yachting, so entering this sphere is very much justified. This opinion is supported by other manufacturers of premium cars, creating boats on the basis of their models.
