Maverick 55 by Rossinavi: breaking the ice in luxury

The result of a collaboration between the Italian yard Rossinavi and the designer Gian Paolo Nari 's design for the Maverick 55 is a 55 metre expedition superyacht. This ice class boat is designed for long distance autonomous voyages of up to 6000 miles.

The rugged hull of the Maverick 55 designed by Arrabito Naval Architects features high bulwarks and a nearly vertical bow so she'll be safe from ice.

She is however fully prepared for adventure cruising in warm waters. Sun pads, a lounge area, bar and large deck space are situated around the spa pool on the upper deck. A helicopter landing area is located below, as well as the dining and outdoor seating areas.

Beneath the enormous 180-degree panoramic lounge is the beach club and fully equipped wellness center.

The austere and ascetic exterior contradicts the luxurious interior design. The interior designers are especially proud of the Trussardi cushions in the relax area of the main saloon, with its dramatic starlight illumination.

The luxurious interiors are ready to accommodate up to 14 guests in 7 cabins, as well as 12 crew members in comfort.

Two Caterpillar 3512C engines and 150,000 liter fuel tanks will allow the Maverick 55 to travel up to 6,000 miles at 15 knots without refueling.

The 70m King Shark is currently under construction at the Italian yard's docks and is due to be launched in 2020.
