Yesterday at the Boat Show in London, Princess Motor Yacht Sales unveiled its new co-ownership scheme, YachtQuarters.

The scheme promises to minimise the costs and hassle of ownership and to leave owners with the added benefits of owning their own yacht.

The YachtQuarters programme will have four-year agreements between the four partners. All operation, maintenance and management of the yacht will be handled by an experienced permanent crew and a team of professionals from Princess Motor Yacht Sales, the world's largest shipyard distributor Princess and Europe's leading yacht service provider.

«The difference between most co-ownership schemes and ours is that we run and maintain the boat 100%,», according to project manager Henning Price.

All costs will be shared equally between the owners. Each owner will only pay for his or her own expenses for fuel, food and drinks.

Each owner will be guaranteed eight weeks of usage per year, with two weeks in each season.

The first boat available for shared ownership now is . Princess 75. The 24-meter yacht comes with an impressive fleet of toys: speedboat tender, water skis, «banana», Seabob, snorkeling gear, and more.

YachtQuarters may be of interest to those new to ownership who are hesitant to take on the full cost of ownership due to lack of experience, or those who lack the finances to purchase and own a yacht alone.

In addition, the offer is more economical than the charter: the average cost of renting a Princess 75 is €52,000 per week, while the cost of co-ownership is approximately €32,000 per week.

Moreover, each of the four lucky owners will feel like the sole owner onboard, as the caring crew will be on hand to exchange the owners' personal belongings in advance and to prepare food according to individual preferences.

Such a scheme does not bind a person is fully committed to only one hobby, and allows you to master, for example, the direction of private aviation, which has long operated a similar program NetJets.

The company is also planning to present its innovative offering at the next trade fair in Düsseldorf, which takes place from 20 to 28 January.
