Taiwan shipyard Johnson Yachts introduced Johnson 70 , a new entry-level superyacht, at the International Boat Show in Fort Lauderdale
The boat was designed by Bill Dixon of Dixon Yacht Design. The 21.3m yacht is available with either a sky lounge or open flybridge, with three or four guest cabins. She can also be outfitted with fishing equipment such as chest racks, bottom rods, and rod holders in the cockpit. Underscoring the customization level of the project, shipyard representatives refer to the Johnson 70 mini-submarine«as a blank sheet of paper» where the owner can design the vessel of his or her dreams.
Powered by twin 1,015-hp CAT C18 engines, the Johnson 70 is capable of pushing the yacht to a top speed of 25 knots.
«» Our goal is to create a new line of boats that sets the trend, not follows it," said Peter Chang, general manager of Johnson Yachts.
According to him, the model is truly versatile and will meet the demands of the yard's most discerning customers.
With the Johnson 70, the new flagship of the Taiwanese shipyard's lineup was unveiled at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show which ended last weekend . The tri-deck vessel, also designed by Dixon, can accommodate 10-12 guests in five to six staterooms. The interiors were designed by Design Unlimited.
