Major British shipyard Princess Yachts has revealed what the X95 luxury superyacht will look like, to be unveiled later this year. Princess has worked on the exterior and interior architecture with legendary design house Pininfarina SpA, who have partnered with theR35 sports boat, among others.

As the first model in the new X-Class range, the boat elegantly combines architectural innovation with all the hallmarks of Princess Yachts, such as fine craftsmanship and the quality of materials themselves. But that is not all.

A feature of the yacht, and in principle of the X-Class, is the super flybridge.

For this decision we have Bernard Olesinski to thank. In total, the super flybridge spans almost 22 metres, more than twice the length of a typical flybridge on a yacht of this size.

«X95 breaks the mould of traditional yacht design. Compared to a conventional motor yacht the layout provides 10% more exterior space and 40% more interior space. The spaciousness and versatility reflect the latest trends in luxury car brands designing crossovers»," says Antony Sheriff, Executive Chairman of Princess Yachts.

The fully enclosed GOVERNING POST is only on the flybridge, which frees up a lot of space on the main deck.

Just behind is the lounge area with a minimalist sofa, teak flooring and an inspiring panoramic view. Similar to a limousine with a bulkhead between driver and saloon, the control station can be isolated from the lounge area by sliding doors. The central part is occupied by the dining area, protected by a hardtop. Behind the round table with seating for eight there are a couple of sofas, but with a coffee table, small armchairs and deck chairs.

The forward section of the fly bridge is dedicated to the sunbathing area with a U-shaped cushioned corner. Further forward, towards the bow, there is a whirlpool bath. Also, walking down the steps from here brings you to an area that can be used as a secluded breakfast area.

One of the two possible layouts of the main deck can accommodate a master suite perfectly adapted for people with reduced mobility. Not a single step separates it from the lounge and open lounge area aft.

On the lower deck aft there is a jet ski garage, crew cabin and four cabins that include an additional (or main, if the main deck layout does not include a cabin) master and VIP stateroom.

The dynamic X95 has a V-shaped hull ( «Deep-V concept») with a wave-cutting bow. She was not conceived as a speedboat, however due to her long waterline she can reach a respectable speed of 24-26 knots for her size and weight. Fuel tanks of 13,400 litres of fuel ensure that X95 has a decent range (though the manufacturer doesn't yet give a specific figure in the specs).

«In automotive industry parallels, the Princess X95 is an SUV, a comfortable all-rounder for long-distance family drives, which can be driven when needed and».

The X95 will be one of six new models that Princess Yachts plans to launch in 2019. The yard is clearly going through a period of growth, with a record nine new yachts touching the water in 2018. Much of this has been made possible by the current £100m five-year investment programme. Princess' order book is currently 91% full of the overall plan for 2019 and 40% when it comes to 2020.
