Igor Rytov's team is once again the best in the Melges 20 class. The second stage of the winter regatta series inMiami «Russian Bogatyrs» finished as triumphant as the first one in December before. In the eight races that took place inthe U.S. from February8 to 10, the Russians only twice were not at the finish line first or second: during the first two starts, they were tenth and fourth out of 16 places.
«For us the ideal weather is strong and steady, without strong shifters, winds, which is exactly what we had at this regatta on Saturday and Sunday: blowing 16-20 knots»," Rytov told Yacht Russia, adding that the current competition proved costly physically, while December was a battle of tactics (and nerves).
He added that his crew is in good form this season, so he expects his team to win the World Championships in the future.
Of course, we would like to wish the team good luck in achieving this goal. But all that for now, the photo of «Russian bogatyrs» graces the «hat» of the official Melges 20 league group on Facebook.
The second crew from Russia - «Nika» Vladimir Prosikhin - took 6th place by the results of the competition in Miami.
