French yachtsman Loïc Peyron has tested his new trimaran Happy, in which he will participate in a solo race across the Atlantic ” Route du Rhum”, also known as the “Rum Race”. Happy is the brother of Mike Birch’s famous 11.5m trimaran “ OlympusPhotography“. He was the winner of the 1978 “Race of Roses” in Canada, beating Frenchman Michel Malinowski by only 98 seconds. In the final minutes, the boat reached a speed of 16 knots and was gliding on practically one left-hand float. All in all, Happy has a good heredity.
