Normally Feadship works with experienced yachtsmen, but this was not the case with Joy: the client had never owned such a large boat before, but knew exactly what he wanted from his first mega-yacht.The yard took this into account and built the yacht to the exacting requirements of an owner who wanted «something quite different from any other yacht».
Exterior and Interior Design
Despite its size, the five-deck Joy doesn't look like a giant clumsy boat, but rather like an elegant curved superstructure, with windows and air conditioned conservatories that blur the line between interior and exterior spaces.
In tune with the exterior is the interior, where an all-glass elevator winds around a spiral wooden staircase. The choice of materials and finishes is limited to the most expensive and best.
Onboard amenities
The luxurious master suite overlooking the forward deck is bathed in natural sunlight. One can admire the sea from the comfort of the huge bed with its unique openings in the bulwarks.
Just as the owner wanted, there is no shortage of outdoor seating when onboard Joy, with a large beach club designed to transform into a party area with friends all night long if necessary, and a sun deck complete with Jacuzzi, bar, barbecue and daybeds.
Special features
Since the owner is a middle-aged man who is active and fit, there is plenty of room for sports and recreational activities. For example, the long foredeck can be used as a basketball court or badminton court, if desired.
A discotheque and movie theater, among others, are available on board.
