Benetti Metis was named after Zeus' first lover. The megayacht won the award for best exterior design among 54-82m yachts at the World Yachts Trophies - 2019.
Exterior and interior design
The vessel is designed on the same technical platform as the Benetti Seasense. Not surprisingly, the hull is virtually unchanged, but the appearance of the superstructure, thanks to designer Giorgio M. Cassetta , was significantly redesigned - largely due to the requirement of an experienced owner to equip a gym on the sun deck. In the end, the superstructure looks very nice and the «wings» on the sides of the gymnasium give the illusion of having one more deck.
The interiors of the Metis are very calm and uncluttered, one might even say unpretentious, but better yet, minimalistic. The same can be said about the lighting fixtures - there are no luxurious chandeliers. But the owners didn't skimp on trim, using three types of oak (white and a couple of stained types) and two types of marble (Calacatta and Coffee Brown).
Onboard amenities
Another requirement of the owner was the layout of the master suite, which measures more than 160 square meters, and the organization of a separate children's cabin equipped with a play area.
The master suite is clearly divided into «his» and «her» areas: separate walk-in closets and bathroom and... two beds so as not to interfere with each other during sleep.
It is logical that opposite the nursery there is a nanny suite, and not a simple cabin, but with its own folding balcony.
There are a lot of private areas on the open decks. For example, the forward deck can be used as a helipad «take-off and landing».
Features
The Metis has no large swimming pool like its predecessor, only a Jacuzzi.
Another notable feature of this yacht is the asymmetrical interior layout with a 30° shift in relation to the diametrical plane.
