Category Description

Jet boats are a specialised type of watercraft that use an internal impeller to draw in water and expel it through a nozzle at high velocity, providing propulsion and steering. Unlike traditional boats with propellers, jet boats do not have any external rotating parts below the waterline, which makes them ideal for navigating shallow waters, rivers, and other areas where submerged obstacles could be an issue.

Jet boats can come in a variety of sizes, from small personal watercraft to larger vessels used for commercial or military purposes. They are known for their fast acceleration, maneuverability, and ability to operate in areas where traditional boats cannot.

They come with some disadvantages, among which are high probability of damage to the impeller by foreign objects in shallow water, relatively low efficiency as well as more expensive repair of the drive. Water jets can be connected with standard outboard or stationary motors and have practically no restrictions on the length of the vessel.
