Alexia is one of the 98-foot Wallys designed by the famous designer Xavier Soto Akebal. The interesting thing about this boat is that it is designed with two features that improve the performance on sharp courses: a water ballast to increase the recovery torque and a controlled flap on the trailing edge of the bulwark fin, which can significantly increase the steepness of the boat towards the wind. Built at a time when Wally had not yet found its "thing" of late, the aft "terrace", Alexia witnesses the search for a new style for Italian boat builders. Alexia is owned by Alberto Römers, an Argentinean of German descent, an important figure in the pharmaceutical industry and a well-known yachtsman, one of the organizers of the new 52 Super Series in the Transpack 52 class.
