The new Southerly 48 is the first in an updated line of Southerlywhich, after some neglect, is now back on the market thanks to Discovery Yachts. The latter has done everything to make it a beautiful and reliable yacht, and most importantly, to preserve the unique qualities of the boat brand with variable draft.
Exterior and interior design
An elevated cockpit, high superstructure, excellent performance for safe sailing - the project is based on the predecessor Southerly 47, released in 2012, developed by Stephen Jones.
Comfort on board
The Southerly 48 is available in a standard layout with three cabins. There is also an option with two full cabins. Panoramic glazing on the superstructure provides natural light to the salon and allows a circular view without breaking away from cooking or dining.

The main feature of the Southerly 48 is the swivel keel, thanks to which the sediment can be changed from 1 to 3 meters. Other models of this brand - Southerly 42, Southerly 54 and Southerly 57 - have this keel. With this keel, you can literally land on the ground or on a dried litoral bottom. The yacht is well balanced and easy to handle, including a small crew. The double set of forward sails includes a genus and a self-tipping jib. The mainsail is equipped with an electric spin to the mast, and the two rudder pens guarantee a stable ride on any course. The comfortable cockpit and the optional tilting bathing platform offer the yacht's occupants many opportunities for relaxation.
