Hylas 56 Overview

The newest model Hylas 56 is one of the most successful works. Herrmann Frerra Sr. and has already won the 2011 Yacht of the Year Award by the American magazine. Cruising World. Ideologically she inherited and further developed Hylas 54, one of the best selling 50ft yachts on the American market in the first decade of this century. A unique feature of the boat was the introduction of Twaron synthetic fibre (a para-amide fibre with properties close to Kevlar) into the laminate of its hull, which should greatly increase the durability and vitality of its hull.
The boat is designed so that even very long voyages without much stress can be performed by just a couple of yachtsmen. The high (40%) weight to displacement ratio of ballast provides excellent static stability and the ability to carry full sails for long periods of time when the wind increases. The internal volumes of the boat in terms of capacity and convenience rival those of the next class - 65-foot long yachts.
