Sailing Beneteau Oceanis 55 is designed by the architectural bureau Berret Racoupeau. This boat can be considered as an optimal size, with up to 10 people on board, and requires a minimum crew. However, a hired captain's cabin is still provided and located forward of the boat.
This Beneteau model is called custom due to its five layouts, three options for the shape and length of the keel. In total, the future owner has 61 options to choose from, so that the boat can be precisely "tailored" to suit his needs.
The yacht is equipped with 133 m² of sails and 75 hp Yanmar engine. All main control levers of the boat are concentrated at the helmsman's seat, all working ends are moved in the same place, so the boat can be easily operated alone. The boom boom is attached to the cockpit arch and the ends are stretched under the deck surface, all of which reduces the risk to passengers. The optional joystick system "Dock & Go", which is available on many Beneteau sailing models, can be used for mooring in tight marinas.
The interiors of the boat are made in a modern way, large rectangular side windows and ceiling hatches bring a lot of daylight inside the yacht. Depending on the expected sailing area, a 1.55 m 1.8 m or 2.31 m long keel can be ordered. The expandable aft hull not only provides good stability of the boat on the move, but also sets a large area of the aft cockpit, the transom part of which swings out, turning into a swimming platform.
