The new model of British Discovery Yachts is a development of the famous Discovery 55 from Ron Holland and similar to Southerly 54, only with a fixed keel. It made its Southampton Boat Show debut in 2018.

Interior and exterior

The protected central cockpit of Discovery 54 speaks of long hikes at first sight. Discovery 54 does not look archaic. The hull lines are modern, if not fast. The circular glazing of the deckhouse adds to the speakers. The inside of Discovery 54 is more than spacious. You should get used to the height differences: the dining area and the navigation table are raised, the entrance to the cabins and galley is lower. There are steps everywhere - be careful.

Comfort on board

A 4.8 m wide hull has created a spacious owner's stateroom aft with dressing area and work desk. The forward cabin is also spacious and autonomous in the home. The salon is beautifully lit during the day thanks to the circular glazing. It also provides an excellent view when working at the navigation table. The wooden finish creates a special cosiness inside, which is important far from the shore.

With its impressive size, Discovery 54 is built for travel by a small crew - a couple or two. Accordingly, everywhere there are electric winches, two thrusters (stern - optional), two tripods, electric spinning of all the sails, a jib, etc. Inside very comfortably placed two pairs with children.

In 2018, Discovery 54 was recognized as the Yacht «of the Year for long distance cruises in» its home country. Certified in category A: long distance autonomous voyages. And it's undeniable.
