Men on a £9 boat rescued 200 metres from land

The National Royal Water Rescue Society has reported the rescue of two fishermen near Essex on Monday, March 6.

The men set out to sea in a hand-made boat, which cost them £9 (that's about 742 roubles) to build.

It was not durable, made of glued plywood and laminate, and the builders did not have life jackets or know how to swim.

So when the oars broke, the skippers called the rescue service.

Fortunately, the fishermen did not have time to move away from the shore - they were found only 200 meters from the land. The men were hoisted on board the rescue boat and taken home. No medical assistance was required for any of the men.
