The team's title sponsor has not yet been named. It is also unclear who will be the skipper. It is known that the Spaniards have already purchased a Volvo Ocean 65 and are waiting for its launching.
The team representing Spain is racing for the sixth time, but so far they haven't managed to win any of them. Iker Martinez, the Athens Olympics champion, took the lead in the early stages of the race in 2011-2012, but a boat breakdown prevented him from finishing first.
