Russian billionaire Andrey Melnichenko is building the largest sailing yacht in the world. CNBC writes about it, citing data received from employees of Nobiskrug shipyard in the city of Kiel.

ItBoat editors have already written about this boat, but the owner's name was not previously disclosed. She will be of unprecedented dimensions measuring over 480 feet in length and will easily surpass the 289-foot Maltese Falcon launched in 2006.

The sailboat will be named White Pearl, and some details will resemble the famous «Black Pearl» Jack Sparrow from the movie «Pirates of the Caribbean».

The ship will have sails larger than a football field and all three masts will be made of ultra-hard and ultra-light carbon fibre reinforced plastic. The yacht has a huge swimming pool and outdoor atrium planned. A crew of 66 is required to operate the giant.

«The White Pearl» is the second megayacht that Melnichenko was involved in the construction of. Earlier the tycoon had a 394-foot-long motor yacht A.
