The largest sailing boat in the world, White Pearl, has been launched at the Nobiskrug docks in Kiel, Germany . White Pearl will have three masts. Its length is estimated at 140 to 147m. White Pearl is also reported to have a beam of 24.38 metres and a draft of 8 metres. According to the journalists' calculations, Zhemchuzhina's gross tonnage is to be 10,000 DWT. The sailboat, the construction of which began in March 2012, is to be handed over to the owner in 2016. During the last few years two yachts - EOS and Maltese Falcon- were competing for the title of the biggest sailing yacht in the world. If you count the length along the bowsprit, EOS wins with its total length of 93 meters. On the waterline Maltese Falcon is 6 meters longer than EOS.
