On the night from Friday to Saturday, July 25, three experienced kiteers - from Russia, Ukraine and Finland - will pass the Gulf of Finland from west to east.

The 200-mile route from Helsinki to St. Petersburg was invented by Russian kiter Maxim Ivanov, who was inspired by the massive crossing of the English Channel back in 2012.

According to the forecast, the wind conditions on the planned days will be just right, and athletes will be able to fulfill their plans. Finland's Juuso Tilaeus and Ukraine's Stanislav Kulikov will conquer the Finnish Channel.

It should be noted that the Finn has already set a record in the Gulf, he has crossed it from Tallinn and Helsinki, taking less than two hours.

The guys plan to cross the bay in one day without stopping.

In case of emergency, the kiteboarders will be followed by two escort boats. The kiteboarders expect to arrive in St. Petersburg on Saturday evening.
