Oceanco's 106m Project Solar sailing superyacht has successfully passed her sea trials and is on her way to her owner. The yacht was named Black Pearl («Black Pearl»).

According to the shipyard, Black Pearl was ordered by a Russian citizen. To date this yacht is the largest yacht ever built in Holland.

The yacht was designed by naval architects Dykstra Naval Architects. The studio's most famous project is the 88-metre Maltese Falcon. Like «Maltese Falcon», Black Pearl has three pivoting masts (a DynaRig sailing rig). She has a steel hull with a Pacman type breakwater bow and an aluminum superstructure.

Nuvolari Lenard is responsible for the exterior and interior design of Black Pearl. She is known to have staterooms for 12 passengers, two spa pools, a huge beach club and plenty of storage space for tenders and water toys.

The 15m width of the yacht brought the interior volume up to 2700 BRT.

Black Pearl is powered by twin Caterpillar engines that enable her to run at 17.5 knots, but can be switched off and run on solar power alone if desired. Overall, the yacht is replete with a variety of environmentally friendly solutions.
