Russian kiteboarder Elena Kalinina has become the second in the World Kiteboarding Championship which ended on November 24 in Oman . Title of World Champion went to American Daniela Frost who managed to win 21 races out of 26 held and by a head ahead of her rivals.

«We set a short distance with the addition of fast courses (gulfwinds, sharp backstroke). It was very important to be able to perform all maneuvers quickly and on each new section to immediately accelerate to optimal speed. Often I came out on the top mark ahead, but just the high-speed sections of the course were my weakness, on this I lost», - said Elena Kalinina.

Nicola Parlier(France) took the victory in the men's fleet, his compatriot Axel Mazela came second and Oliver Bridge(Great Britain) was third. Russian Denis Taradin is in the top ten.

Recall that the pupil of the Sailing Academy of St. Petersburg Elena Kalinina is the owner of the title of world champion among juniors in 2014, as well as a three-time champion of Europe. In August 2017, the Russian woman lost the title of European champion to the rising star of American kiteboarding Daniela Moroz, who was only fifteen years old at the time.
