The third leg of the Hempel World Cup Sailing Series 2019 began in Genoa, Italy on 14 April. The regatta was attended by 676 competitors from 58 countries. Due to weak winds by the evening of Tuesday, April 16, only 1-2 races were held in the 49er, Laser and Nacra 17 classes, while the Finn and 470 classes did not start competing.

Despite the difficult conditions the Russian team is showing well. During the only race in Laser class Sergey Komissarov finished second, Daniil Krutskikh ( pictured) came in fourth. Maxim Semenov and AlinaShchetinkina finished the only start in Nacra 17 class in seventh place, while SergeyDzhienbaev and Sofia Kiselevafinished 13th. The Russian 49er FX crew of Zoya Novikova and Diana Sabirovaalso finished in the top 20: 20th and 18th places.

The rest of the Russians are in the top 30. Another «lazer» KirillEvfimevsky - finished the race on 27th place. In 49er class,Konstantin Nosov andAlexander Gaidaenko came 28-27, and Jan Czech and IvanZotov 31-26.

This round of the Cup will continue till April 21. Its final will be held in early June in Marseille, France . And yachtsmen will come back to Genoa exactly in a year to take part in qualifying competitions before Olympics in Tokyo from April 13-19.
