Generous sunshine and strong winds sponsored spectacular shots of Carlo Borlenga from the Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez regatta, which attracted 4,000 sailors from around the world. The race committee sent all the modern sailing boats and the Wally fleet on a long coastal course towards Cavalaire-sur-Mer while the classics left the harbour heading towards Les Isambres. Good winds allowed the fastest competitors to complete the race, which started on September 30, as early as October 3. Rambler, My Song and Babsy were first in the IRC-A class. Magic Carpet3 and Galateia were the Wally class leaders. The Blue Peter, Stormy Weather and Galvana were among the classic yachts.
