Volvo Ocean Race teams in the heart of the Southern Ocean, a powerful storm is brewing. "This is the most brutal place you can go in a boat. Nowhere in the world is the line between breaking the record and crashing yourself so thin," says the Team Brunel blog. To keep competitors safe, organisers of the Volvo Ocean Race drew an imaginary line called the Ice Gate. There, beyond the line, the Arctic ice zone begins. The organizers are not particularly fond of the Titanic, so going beyond the ice gate is punishable by a fine.
