The history of the company
Hong Kong's Cheoy Lee shipyard has been one of the leading builders of all types of vessels for over a century. It was founded in 1870 in Shanghai and moved to Hong Kong in 1936. In the 1960s, the company switched to a wide use of GRP and gained a strong position in the world market. Nowadays Cheoy Lee shipyard produces not only commercial yachts but also a number of high-class motor yachts, offering its clients an excellent price/quality ratio.
One of the priority markets for Cheoy Lee is North America, where it has been known for over 50 years.

Cheoy Lee's production facilities are based in Southern China, building steel, aluminum and fiberglass vessels, and a serious technical base allows the shipyard to realize large-scale projects. She has, for example, pioneered the construction of composite yachts over 30 metres in length.
Cheoy Lee's range of private vessels includes Serenity expedition yachts and trawlers as well as Global motor megayachts.
In the Explorer series, the shipyard produces ocean-class expedition motor yachts with a range of up to 7,000 nautical miles, suitable for the most challenging voyages.
Cheoy Lee's strong points include its extensive experience in the production of large vessels and its versatile production facilities. All this allows to realize private projects at the highest level and to realize practically any wishes of the customer.
