About Columbus Yachts

Company history

Columbus Yachts started with Salvatore Palumbo in 1967 when he bought a small steelworks. Over three generations, the entrepreneur's family successively expanded the company, which eventually became one of the largest shipbuilding concerns in the Mediterranean, the Palumbo Group. The Group owns such world famous brands as ISA, Mondomarine and Extra.

The decision to enter the superyacht market was made in 2008. Columbus presented its first boat Prima in this segment in 2011. The model received many positive reviews at the Monaco Yachts Show and was sold almost immediately. The successful «firstborn» was followed by several outstanding projects that helped the company to gain a foothold in the market.

The Palambo family is, above all, experienced sailors, they understand what their clients need. The company's management carefully selects naval architects and designers.
