About Galeon Yachts

About Galeon Yachts

History of Galeon Yachts

Founded in 1982, the Polish shipyard Galeon, established by the Kobylko family, has grown to become a prominent global competitor in the yacht and boat manufacturing industry. Celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2022, Galeon has become one of the few Polish yacht builders with global recognition, excelling despite intense competition from Western European manufacturers. The company has focused on adopting new technologies, improving material quality and assembly, and collaborating with renowned designers including Tony Castro and Roberto Curtò.

In 2002, Galeon split its production into two segments: motor yachts under the Galeon brand and 4-8m long boats under the Galia brand.

Today, Galeon is the second-largest Polish pleasure boat manufacturer by turnover. The company is co-owned by founder and CEO Wieczyslaw Kobylko and his son Jacek. While approximately 10% of sales are within the domestic market, the majority of their products are exported to Europe and, increasingly, the United States and Asia. The shipyard's production rivals the quality and features of leading global manufacturers often at a significantly more attractive starting price.

Production  Facilities

Galeon's impressive production capacity ranks among the largest in Europe. The shipyard features two facilities, employing around 1,200 staff members. The first location, founded by the Kobylko family in 1982, focuses on traditional boatbuilding. In 2010, a second site with direct access to the Baltic Sea and its own marina was opened on the Vistula River, catering to the construction and servicing of larger yachts.

The company operates a full production cycle, outsourcing only electronics and engines. With in-house wood, steel, and glass divisions, Galeon is able to implement customer customization requests with quality and speed. The shipyard also offers a test pool for testing and calibrating various systems. Approximately 2,000 boats and yachts are produced annually, and winter storage and maintenance services are provided for Galeon yachts.

Galeon Model Range

The Hardtop Coupe (HTC) and Hardtop Sport (HTS) series are semi enclosed sports cruisers ranging from 10 to 13 meters in length. The firm added to its sports cruiser line up with the recent introduction of two models in the GTO (Grand Touring Outboards) series, headlined by the popular 11.5 meter Galeon 375 GTO.

Galeon's flybridge offerings include a series of Tony Castro designed yachts from 12.5 to 25.4 meters in length. Standouts include the award winning Galeon 640 Fly, named best flybridge over 60 feet at the 2019 Motor Boats & Yachting Awards and the Galeon 680 Fly, awarded for Best Exterior Design at the 2019 World Yacht Trophies. The flagship of the range is the 25.4 meter, 4 cabin Galeon 800 Fly.

The firm's Skydeck series marks the new generation of Galeon yachts with a top deck design that combines the benefits of both flybridge and hardtop models.

Features

Galeon's lamination process stands out with its foam-cored FRP hull sides and resin-infused, hand-laid fiberglass bottom sections. The lightweight superstructures of models like the 640 Fly and 650 Skydeck are crafted from resin-infused carbon composite and pre-preg carbon fiber. By combining traditional boatbuilding skills with the latest CNC machinery, Galeon manufactures nearly every component in-house, including milling its own teak for decking.
