Fairline Yachts Model Range
Fairline Yachts, a British yachting industry leader, was originally established as Fairline Boats in 1967 in Oundle, England. The company began producing small fiberglass boats, eventually gaining popularity in the 1970s and 1980s with its innovative Phantom and Targa series. In the 1990s, the successful Squadron flybridge series was introduced.
Financial difficulties began in 2007, ultimately leading to bankruptcy in 2015. Businessmen Alexander Volov and Igor Glyanenko acquired the company's assets, establishing Fairline Yachts and turning the business around with a new strategy and strong management.
In 2016, Fairline Yachts collaborated with renowned Italian designer Alberto Mancini and the prestigious Dutch design bureau Vripack. Mancini, who became the face of the company, infused the British shipyard's tradition with Italian elegance. The first yacht designed by Mancini for the company was the 20m Targa 63 GTO, launched for Fairline's 50th anniversary in 2017. Throughout its history, Fairline has received several accolades, including the Queen's Award for Enterprise: International Trade in 1986 and the European Powerboat of the Year award in 2007 for the Fairline Targa 38.
Since 2016, Fairline Yachts has introduced new models for its Squadron and Targa lines, as well as the F//LINE day boat series and the Phantom sportsbridge. The company has undergone several ownership changes, with RiverRock European Opportunities Fund II acquiring a majority stake in 2020, and private equity firm Hanover Investors purchasing Fairline Yachts Ltd. in 2021.
Fairline Model Range
Fairline produces custom composite motor yachts from four families: F//LINE, Targa, Phantom and Squadron.
The F//LINE range was launched by the company in 2017 and is comprised of two models of 10m open yachts mainly for day tripping and weekend use. The F//Line's sleek curves are designed by Alberto Mancini and since 2021 a hardtop option has also been included for the Fairline F-Line 33 base model.
The Targa Range, first launched in 1985, is a series of of sports yachts. The entry point is the semi enclosed 12m Fairline Targa 49 while the range is topped by the Gran Turismo models, first launched in 2003 with the largest currently being the 20m enclosed Fairline Targa 65 GT.
The Phantom, just launched in 2022 is represented by a single 20m sportsbridge yacht, Fairline's first attempt at this class, the Fairline Phantom 65. Already the Phantom is winning praise, being named the winner of the sportscruisers over 45ft category at the recent 2023 Motor Boat Awards.
The Squadron series makes up Fairline's flybridge yacht models with three currently available from 15.6 to 20.6 meters (50 to 68 feet).
