Abeking & Rasmussen 4K Overview
Alithia, built 10 years ago, was an attempt to redefine the concept of a sailing superyacht. New times and new demands (primarily speed) have forced a new way of thinking about the design of large sailing boats. Bill Tripp designed a true racing boat - with a low, wide hull, with its maximum width carried far aft, a straight bow overhang, a large sail area and a very long waterline. To save weight she was built in Alustar aluminum alloy. Built in 2002 she has been able to cross the Atlantic several times in under 10 days. The finishing is very unstereotypical and is based on three basic materials: maple wood, leather and glass. The lighting of the interiors is also very interesting, with hidden light sources not visible to the eye. The biggest drawback of the boat is its draft: almost 6 meters. As a consequence, the number of harbors she can call at is very limited.
