Alcanara, designed for a famous Australian wool merchant, is today one of the smallest yachts designed by Ed Dubois in recent years: she is "only" 95.5 feet long. The owner had a condition - he wanted a very fast and luxurious sailing yacht, but with a length of less than 100 feet. His ideal sailing yacht was the Margaret Ann, which had been built three years earlier to the same design. Dubois modified her layout slightly, and redesigned a more modern superstructure, thus creating a new design. Alcanara is now on sale for €6.8 million, not much for a 100-footer.
