Lurssen EOS Overview

Eos is by far the largest sailing yacht in the world, taking the title from the famous Athena. Although Maltese Falcon is the largest in terms of hull length, Eos is longer in terms of maximum length (with bowsprit). She is also notable for the unusual design of the upper deck and superstructure, which is a strange mix of classic and modern. Eos was built at the Luerssen shipyard in Bremen in secrecy and little was known about her until she was launched in 2006. Not so many details, apart from the main technical characteristics, are known now. According to some reports, the yacht belongs to American media tycoon Barry Diller and his wife, fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg.
