Royal Huisman Gliss Overview
Gliss has become a very unusual vessel. The owner's whim neglected to take into account certain regulations during her construction, making her unfit for commercial use - in other words, legally unfit for charter and only a master's boat. The main reason for this decision is the customer's desire to have a mandatory lowering of the deckhouse windows, which is not allowed by today's rules. However, this customer's wish has been granted and the boat can, with the press of a button, be converted into a "hardtop", with the deckhouse windows retracting downwards into the deck. The yacht's electronics include touch screen monitors and are based on a number of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), which take care of automatic control of a number of functions of the yacht (for example, she can automatically light the sailing lights at dusk and the anchor light when the anchor is dropped). The interior is very sophisticated with a color scheme based on white washed oak combined with polished nickel finishes. The flooring is made of cork and the tables and cabinets are made of black polished granite.
