Royal Huisman Juliet Overview
The story of Juliet is the story of a successful man named Bruce Katz, who as a young man was eager to earn money to buy "at least some" sailing. Over the years of sailing his interests began to shift from small coastal sailing yachts to ocean yachts, and his financial opportunities increased significantly - he founded the shoe company Rockport Shoes. Then Bruce began thinking about larger boats like the famous Swan 65 at the time. Not wanting to buy a mass-produced "just like everyone else" product, he contemplated a custom-built version that would extend to 75 feet in length, but then came across Royal Huisman-built boats, one of which he purchased "just for show". But it was only after meeting Cyclos III that the final inspiration arose. She was required to be built for sailing and to be fast, yet easily handled even by a small crew. Her design had to be both classic and modern, not to become outdated even after 30 years. Over the years Juliet has covered more than 70,000 miles and in turn became the yacht that inspired another client to create (by the same team of designers, stylists and builders) the Ethereal.
