The History of Princess Yachts

The world famous shipbuilding company Princess Yachts was founded in 1965 in Plymouth, the heart of British shipbuilding. The company is a leader in the construction of premium superyachts and motor yachts. The company has an extensive network of dealers and over 45 representative offices on five continents.

Princess invests around £4 million annually in the development of its model range and introduces new models frequently. In 2008, Princess entered the LVMH conglomerate of Bernard Arnault via LVMH, the world's largest corporation in the luxury goods sector, which includes more than 70 well-known brands including Tiffany & Co., Christian Dior, TAG Heuer, Bulgari and more.

Current Status

Princess Yachts is currently in operation and producing a range of high end motor yacht models.

At every important yachting exhibition, new MODELS of PRINCESS YACHTS are always AT the center of attention and winNING awards, OF which the company ALREADY HAS MORE THAN 50.

Production Facilities

Since its founding, Princess Yacht's production facilities have been located on the shore of the The English Channel in Plymouth. More than 3000 people are involved in yacht construction and the production area exceeds 90.000 square meters.

The company pays special attention to ecological production methods. The shipyard was the first major European shipbuilding enterprise to receive an ISO14001 certificate as a recognition of achievements in reducing emissions into the environment.

Yacht Features

Princess boats stand out for their large side windows, their impressively glazed deckhouse and the rapid shape of their bow. They may not be as flashy as some of the Italian models but they are ergonomic and thought through to the smallest detail and the finest interiors from Fendi Casa certainly draw impressed expressions of delight from guests..

To the credit of the shipyard, instead of a producing one or two similar models to make one universal design, every Princess boat is still built to order. On board each such boat is a detailed dedication to convenience, practicality and function. It says a lot about the high standards Princess insists on that 10-year-old models still look as modern as any new ones on the market.

Princess Yachts Model Lines

Princess is building production yachts from 10 to 30 meters (30 to 100 feet) in the high end luxury segment with 21 models divided into 6 main classes.

The Princess X Class are super flybridge yachts designed for extended cruising in a truly luxurious environment. The original Princess X95 was a pioneer in the industry, boasting magnificent architecture and combining impressive sea handling with fuel efficiency, setting a new benchmark for luxury floating living space. In 2022, the X95 was joined by her sister ship, the Princess X80 superyacht, which completely rethinks the traditional concept of yacht architecture. The X80 offers four deck spaces and a super flybridge that extends the full length of the yacht, delivering a remarkable level of spaciousness and luxury.

The Princess Y Class was originally Princess Yacht's smaller superyacht line nestled just below the models of the X Class. This changed in 2022 with the introduction of the flagship Princess Y95, a 29.1 meter beauty that features the longest hull windows ever installed on a Princess yacht offering an awe inspiring view from inside and provoking gasps of appreciation from onlookers wherever she berths. The smaller Princess Y72 also turned heads at the 2022 Motorboat and Yachting Awards where she was awarded "Best Flybridge over 60ft".

The Princess F Class are the firm's ode to the classic flybridge motor yacht with models from 45 to 62 feet in length. With the deep V shape of its hull, the F Class provides generous cockpit spaces, luxurious saloons, and exceptional cabin layouts and are immediately recognizable. Timeless and magnificent in every way, Princess flybridge yachts have been the recipient of multiple awards with the F45 flybridge being awarded for 'Best Flybridge under 60ft" at the recent Motorboat and Yachting Awards 2022.

The Princess S Class are Princess' range of sportsbridge yachts known for their sleek and sporty exterior design and high performance capabilities with top speeds approaching forty knots. The four current S-Class models remain committed to the principles established by the flagship S72, emphasizing smooth aesthetics and superior construction that blend flybridge comfort and ease with the exhilarating performance of a sports yacht.

The Princess V Class are high performance, mainly closed deck yachts ranging from 40 to 78 feet available in a range of configurations. With ample seating, spacious sunpads, large windows and huge cockpits they are designed for outdoor adventure and with six models currently in production offer an option suitable for all tastes. First introduced in 1994, the V class is still home to the firm's smallest yacht, the sleek Princess V40 which clocks in at just under 13 meters.

The Princess R Class is represented by the Princess R35, the brand's new high performance sports yacht. This stunning 10.89 meter boat is powered by two v8 engines propelling her to eye watering speeds of up to 50 knots making her the fastest Princess model ever produced.
