The all-female crew of Team SCA took the lead at one of the first important marks of the Volvo Ocean Race: the team was the first to cross the Strait of Gibraltar. The women were able to pull away significantly from the competition.
Team Vestas Wind is in second place after crossing the important mark, with Team Alvimedicain third place.
Let us remind you that the round-the-world race started on 11 October. Seven crews are taking part: Team SCA, Team Alvimedica, Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing, MAPFRE, Team Brunel, Dongfeng Racing, Team Vestas Wind.
