On board Picchiotti Vitruvius Exuma

We can talk a great deal about the outstanding technical characteristics of the various boats, but in the case of Cantieri Navali Beconcini. Exuma the red thread is the fuel consumption. Or rather, the thread is green, as at an average value of 10 liters per nautical mile the consumption of diesel fuel becomes comparable to the appetite of an average SUV.

Moreover, two Caterpillars C32 of 970 kW at 2,100 rpm are sufficient for transatlantic passages at comfortable 16.5 knots. Its autonomy is 5,500 nautical miles. Perhaps it is this characteristic that will become the benchmark for a fairly large vessel for many no less renowned shipyards - the ability to count yourself «among the green» is now highly valued.

The green theme is not new to the Exuma manufacturer - a renowned shipyard for decades. Perini Navi manufactures mega sailing yachts - what a Maltese Falcon alone is worth! Over 65% of the world's sailing megayacht production is concentrated in the hands of Perini Navi. The firstborn of the motor yacht range Picchiotti sets new standards for quality, consumer performance, environmental friendliness and the highest pedigree. Sailing experience allowed for a bold experiment in deep adaptation «of the sailing» hull for a large expeditionary ice class motor yacht.

The expedition yacht is able to comfortably accommodate ten passengers in five cabins, provide chamber accommodation in the lower and upper saloons for large companies.

However, the boat remains an expedition vessel and every conceivable means of transport is present on board, from the Iveco amphibious car to hovercraft gliders. With a draft of 2.3 meters, this megayacht is able to enter bays inaccessible to classmates. Even by classification the boat is at an acceptable level of less than 50 meters and below 500 tons.

The boat is equipped with Caterpillar engines, which can be serviced almost anywhere in the world, and the location of the screws above the keel can protect them from damage in unknown bays.

«The launching of the first motor yacht Picchiotti is not only the quintessence of the quality and elegance of the forty-eight sailing yachts we have produced, but also a confirmation of the uniqueness and high-tech of our products, coupled with respect for tradition and openness to innovation»," says Giancarlo Ragnetti, President of the Perini Navi Group, "The «powerful Cantieri Navali Beconcini (CNB) brand has left an enormous mark on the history of world yacht building. CNB continues to zealously strive to maintain the breed and pedigree of our entire group».

This yacht was born through collaboration between Vitruvius Ltd. (a subsidiary of Perini Navi), French designer Philippe Briand and the Perini Navi Group at Cantieri Navali Beconcini, now using the historic Picchiotti brand. By the way, Vitruvius is the famous drawing by Leonardo Da Vinci, in which the figure of a man is inscribed in a circle and square. Vitruvius is considered to be canonical proportions of a person. We are sure that the new standards set by the shipyard will also be accepted worldwide as the benchmark of perfection.
