Tankoa Yachts S.p.A.
Via Cibrario, 1H, 16154
The brand Tankoa produces displacement Yachts and motor Superyachts. There are 15 models from 45 to 80 meters.
After Baglietto's rescue from bankruptcy in 1996 and its subsequent resale, a talented management team decided not to leave the shipbuilding business but to create their own brand. In Italy, Tankoa Yachts was founded in 2007 to create exclusive motor yachts from 50 metres in length.
It is noteworthy that the management of the new company decided not to advertise the start of work before the full production launch. In 2008 famous Italian designers Vincenzo Ruggiero and Francesco Paszkowski were invited to create the first two 65-meter projects.
By winter 2009, Tankoa Yachts had fully established its staff, built an office and started production. By this time the first two hulls had been delivered to the shipyard, but during the crisis years of 2011-2012 the company had to suspend their completion and switch to new projects, including refit.
For further development of the yard the owner was invited to join the team.
In 2014, the shipyard made its successful debut at the Monaco Yachts Show with three new concepts. For 2019, the company continues to operate and holds a strong market position.
The production facilities of Tankoa Yachts are located in the rich shipbuilding and maritime traditions of Genoa. On an area of approximately 30,000 square meters there is a five-storey company office, an assembly hangar consisting of two boxes (90 meters long and 20 meters wide each), a state-of-the-art dock, a loading dock and much more.
Also in 2018, the shipyard announced the opening of a division for the construction of custom boats in B .
Now Tankoa Yachts is building custom and semi-custom yachts up to 100 meters in length in steel and aluminium. The yard's portfolio includes models designed for transatlantic crossings and fast enough boats for the megayacht segment.
Despite the small age of the shipyard, Tankoa managed to win worldwide recognition.
At the International Yacht Show in Monaco in 2018, Solo was voted the most environmentally friendly yacht. And this despite the fact that the project was designed 10 years ago.
Tankoa yachts have been built in accordance with the latest marine pollution prevention regulations and the special Green Plus annotation. All boats are designed so that exhaust fumes from the engine are pulled out into the funnel and do not have a negative impact on passengers. For this purpose, the ships are tested in a wind tunnel at the Schiffbautechnische Versuchsanstalt in Vienna.
The yachts also receive a double class certificate from Lloyd's Register and RINA.
