Feadship has six yachts with its Refit & Services division at the same time, and all four Dutch yards are working on them. The builder listed the boats in its PILOT newsletter of 15 September. Two of them mark the extremes. Anshin, 66.25 metres and delivered in 2016, came into Amsterdam this month for a three-month refit. Halcyon, 46.9 metres and built in 2001, is back on the water after fifteen months at Kaag.
Anshin: three months in Amsterdam
Anshin left Kaag in 2016 as Project 809 and has carried three names, Vanish at launch and then Hampshire. She changed hands on 15 May 2026, Cecil Wright acting for the seller and Edmiston introducing the buyer, at a last asking price of €85 million. Four months later she is in Feadship's Amsterdam shed, already with the new owner's wish list.
Feadship calls the job a substantial interior makeover plus technical upgrades, then adds a line it does not explain: two new cranes on the sun deck for a pair of Honda Gold Wing motorcycles. For the record, each Gold Wing weighs around 380–390 kg. Who makes the cranes, which model they are and how much they lift, the yard has not said.
Halcyon: from refit to near new build
Halcyon came into Kaag in May 2025, twenty-four years after she launched as Northern Light. Feadship's press release of 10 June 2026 described a fourteen-month programme; the September newsletter calls it fifteen. The brief began with a redesigned stern, a repaint and some technical work, and kept growing. Main engines and gearboxes were overhauled, two generators added, water production, ventilation and fuel management renewed, climate control replaced outright, the bridge refitted. On deck: a new staircase to the swim platform, fresh teak, a full repaint.
"When Halcyon arrived, we expected a major refit. As the project developed, it became clear that we had the opportunity to do much more… What started as a refit became something much closer to a modified new build," said her captain, Joe Gallegos.
Four more boats: Graycliffs, Valoria, Callisto, Ulysses
| Yacht | Length | Year | Yard | Work |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Graycliffs | 49.5 m | 2026 | Aalsmeer | technical work |
| Valoria | 47.35 m | 2018 | Aalsmeer | maintenance and survey this autumn |
| Callisto | — | — | Aalsmeer | maintenance and survey this autumn |
| Ulysses | 102.6 m | 2024 | Makkum | service work |
Graycliffs is recognisable as the yacht that carried the project name Project 717; she was handed over in April 2026 with an interior by Marty Lowe, and she is already back at sea after technical work by the Aalsmeer team. If that is the boat, she is five months old. Valoria (hull 697, ex-Femke, interior by Elsa Urquijo) returns to the same yard this autumn alongside Callisto; Feadship gives no length or year for Callisto, and two of its yachts have carried that name. Ulysses, at 102.6 metres the largest yacht Feadship has built, is back at Makkum, the yard that outfitted her, two years after delivery.
Why new hulls are taking the places in the refit queue
Refits used to be done on "old" boats. Ulysses has been afloat two years and Graycliffs, if she is Project 717, five months, and both occupy capacity that a twenty-five-year rebuild like Halcyon also needs. By GM Insights' count the refit and maintenance market was worth about $2.5 billion in 2023 and is forecast to grow more than 8% a year through 2032, with Lürssen and MB92 holding roughly a tenth of it between them. Squircle Capital raised its stake in MB92 to 100% in March 2026. Booking a top yard twelve to eighteen months ahead is now normal, and a Future of Refit event arrives in Monaco in 2027.
Feadship built for this. Refit & Services became a formal programme in 2018, and the Amsterdam facility opened on 16 May 2019 with a construction hall of 5,500 square metres, 28 metres high; the site is sized for hulls up to 160 metres. "If something unexpected comes up, we have access to two hundred engineers at Feadship De Voogt Naval Architects and many more at all four of our shipyards," said Pier Posthuma de Boer, then the division's director, in 2021. How many yachts pass through in a year, and what the division earns, Feadship does not publish. The last public figure was "at least ten" for the winter of 2021/22. The new-build side keeps its own schedule: the 89.6-metre Milky Way went to her owner in August.
