About Vedette

Company history

The ancestors of Vedette Shipyard founder Hans van Veen were closely connected to the sea, but he himself had spent quite a long time in shipbuilding, having worked as an engineer in various industries. By 2002, the genes had taken over and the experience he had gained in the past had come in handy for design and management.

«If you do not know something, be sure to study it and strive for the maximum!» - This is Hans.

In the same year, the company made its debut at the HISWA international trade fair, and in 2003 it leased its first space for production.

It's working.

Production

Until 2012 Vedette has rented premises in Eithorn and built about 50 boats there. By that time the management concluded that the old place had become cramped, and some of the features of the facility prevented efficient work. The company did not look for new areas, but built them itself.

Model range

The shipyard builds classic Dutch displacement yachts with steel hulls. As a rule, such boats are often found on European canals and rivers. Larger yachts in the range are also «pocket» explorers and can go out into the ocean. Recently, the shipbuilder decided to expand the audience of its clients and started to produce boats with more modern design but with the «heart of trawlers».

Features

The young shipyard is already competing with Jetten, Boarnstream, De Alm and other leaders in the segment. This is helped by the traditional high quality of hand-assembly and relatively low prices.

«Never let a customer pay for financial inefficiencies»," says Hans.

The company is committed to an optimal cost/income ratio.
