The history of the company

The shipyard's history goes back to the early 1980s when a group of New Zealand shipbuilders launched an ambitious project to build a 28m aluminium yacht. In 1985 they began working under the brand name Alloy Yachts. The leader of the team was Tony Hambrook.

The next project was the participation in the tender for the construction of a yacht to compete for the America«'s Cup in 1987».

In the 1990s, the shipyard created the 48-meter sloop Georgia, which at that time was the largest single-mast sailing vessel in the world. Alloy Yachts also built motor boats. Unfortunately, the company was unable to adapt to the changing market conditions and the falling demand for sailing yachts and announced that it would cease production in 2016.

Status

The company has ceased operations. Technical support for vessels built by Alloy Yachts is currently ongoing with Alloy Support.

Production

Production was based on the North Island coast of New Zealand in the Auckland area. It was mainly focused on working with aluminium.

Fleet .

Each vessel built by Alloy Yachts was individually designed. The shipyard's sailing series consists of single and double megayachts ranging in length from 30 (Savannah) to 58 (Kokomo) and even 67 meters (Vertigo). Motor yachts of the shipyard are up to 40 meters long.
