Company history

The history of one of the oldest Dutch shipyards Van Dam Nordia goes back to the 1600s. At that time Helling Shipyard was working there and in 1881 it was bought by Erie van Dam, who is considered to be the founding father of Van Dam Nordia.

At first the company built small cargo ships, but 27 years later the first pleasure sailing boats began to appear in the model range, but in 1939 production was suspended and resumed only after the war.

In 1956 the shipyard entered the market for custom-built sailing yachts and this became the main focus of the company. By the 70's Nordia had abandoned the usual wood and switched to metal alloys.

On the 125th anniversary of the builder (in 2006) Her Majesty the Queen of the Netherlands awarded the shipyard the title of Supplier «of the Royal Court.

Next year the shipyard announced the expansion of its range of motor yachts.

The shipyard's not functioning.

Production .

The company owned one shipyard, located in Alsmere. The shipbuilder's headquarters were also located here. Approximately 30 people worked in production and Nordia Yacht Design had its own design department to create the projects.

Model range

The company built semi-deck boats from 15 to 37 meters in length from aluminum alloys. The lineup includes luxury cruising yachts, sailing and motor superyachts.

Features .

It is no exaggeration to say that the boats of Nordia fully satisfied the needs of their owners and were of high quality. The average ownership period of a yacht (from purchase to resale) is about 12 years, and each sailing boat has made at least one round the world voyage or traveled an equivalent distance.
