About Solaris

The History of Solaris Yachts

With roots tracing back to the rich maritime history of Aquileia, Solaris Yachts has emerged as a beacon of innovation and craftsmanship in the world of sailing. Since its inception in the 1970s, the brand has been a torchbearer of seafaring heritage, feeling that they are continuing the legacy left by the Romans and the Serenissima Republic.

Current Status

Today, Solaris Yachts stands tall as a premier manufacturer of sailing yachts, ranging from 37 to 100 feet in length, all featuring a robust fibreglass composite hull. Beyond yacht construction, Solaris excels in yacht refitting, ensuring vessels maintain their peak performance and elegance through time.

Production of Solaris Yachts

The heart of the brand beats at the Cantiere Serigi Shipyard. The yard nests along the northeastern coast of Italy in Aquila. This sprawling facility, spanning 26,000 square meters, with 6,000 square metres under cover, has undergone significant expansion in 2016. This expansion made the company meet the highest production standards for each new Solaris yacht.

Distinguishing itself from other boatyards, Solaris relies exclusively on composite bulkheads. These are meticulously laminated to both hull and deck, a key characteristic that forms the yacht's structural "monolith" or "cage." According to the brand, composite chainplates replace conventional steel, ensuring an unmatched level of connectivity and reliability.

The model range

Solaris boasts an impressive lineup of yachts, ranging from 37 to 60 feet, thus catering to a diverse clientele. The shipyard also collaborates with renowned designers such as Doug Peterson and Javier Soto Eisbol to create custom yachts. Moreover, with an in-house design team and furniture production, Solaris transforms clients' interior visions into reality.

Beyond its Italian roots, Solaris extends its reach globally through representative offices strategically positioned in Europe, Asia, and America, making its yachts accessible to yachting enthusiasts worldwide.

Features of Solaris Yachts

The brand has earned the trust of world-class sailors like Enrico Tettamanti, a seasoned mariner with over 100,000 ocean miles under his belt and 7 Cape Horn roundings to his name. Tettamanti chose the Solaris 72 for his epic 5-year circumnavigation, a testament to the yacht's seaworthiness and reliability, even in the most challenging conditions.

One of Solaris Yachts' standout achievements is the proprietary hull and superstructure lamination technology. In other words, this innovation bolsters the yachts' resilience in adverse weather conditions and safeguards against hull deformation. The shipyard's extensive experience has solidified its reputation for producing highly reliable quality yachts.
