The history of the company

Having created Multiplast in 1981, naval architect Gilles Oilier was one of the first yachting companies to combine design and production in a single structure.

Ollier is passionate about carbon and started building ocean racing yachts from it. The first all-carbon 60-foot Credit Agricole II, built on Multiplast, was a leader in the 1984 transatlantic race, but ended up capsizing it. The second 85-foot Jet Services IV also had an unfortunate fate, turning over off the coast of Spain. Built in 1987, Jet Services V's 75-foot catamaran broke the chain of failure and won the same year the race around Europe, and in 1988 she became the first in a three-day race between Quebec and San Malo.

Since then, Multiplast has built over 30 unique prototypes.

Multiplast yachts were the first to exceed 500, 600, 700 and 800 miles in 24 hours.

Jules Verne Trophy won six times, Ocean Round the World team and singles 3 times, Route de Rhum, Jacques Vabre Transat and Volvo Ocean Race (Groupama 4).

Multiplast has been involved in the creation of monotypes for the Volvo Ocean Race (VOR65), building projects for Vendée Globe and America's Cup.

Production

Multiplast Shipyard is located in South Brittany in the city of Van on the shore of Morbihan Bay. The company has a production area of 5.3 thousand square meters divided into isolated hangars with controlled temperature and humidity. The shipyard is equipped with modern systems of work with composites, furnaces and vacuum machines. Own engineering center works since 1981. Apart from construction, Multiplast also offers yacht refit services. The company employs 80 people.

Model range

Multiplast offers its clients services for the construction of custom single hull and multihull carbon composite sailing yachts. Other direction of work is building of cruise single-hulled and multihulled yachts under individual projects.
