Company history

The family company Northman, established in the early 2000s in Węgorzewo on the Masuria Lakes, is today one of the largest Polish shipyards. The owner of the company Krzysztof Stępniak was able to create a shipyard, whose boats are sold and appreciated by professionals all over the world. One of the most famous models produced by the shipyard is Maxus 22.

«Call of the Ocean» has become the world's smallest boat for a solo round-the-world voyage with no stops.

Polish yachtsman Szymon Kuczyński completed his world tour in 2018, spending 270 days, 10 hours and 29 minutes.

Since 2012, the shipyard has been producing motor yachts for inland waters and coastal navigation.

Production

The headquarters and production base of the company is located in the city of Vengozhevo and has an area of 5 thousand square meters. More than 100 employees work at the shipyard. The company produces about 150 yachts annually. In 2019, Northman opened its own research and development centre, which significantly expanded the company's prospects and now works closely with the Gdańsk and Warsaw University of Technology. The total investment in the project amounted to over €1 million, with 55% of the funding coming from the European Regional Development Fund.

Northman has offices in European countries, Chile, Japan and Israel. The company also owns its own charter company, Ahoj, which operates a fleet of more than 100 yachts manufactured by Northman.

Model range

Northman's range includes cruising yachts with Mediterranean cockpit and sports monotypes, as well as motor yachts in fibreglass composite hulls 20-40 feet long. Sailing yachts are produced under the project of Jacek Daszkiewicz under the Maxus brand, motor yachts are produced under the Nexus, Northman and Courier brands and the company also builds yachts according to clients' specifications.

Most models of the Maxus sailing line are available with many options for the keel arrangement. Yachts can be equipped with lift or fixed keel, double keel or centreboard.

The quality and seaworthiness of Northman yachts are recognized at the highest level and meet the requirements not only of the national shipping register, but of organizations such as World Sailing.

Maxus yachts are versatile and suitable for coastal cruising and sports cruising.
